am a journalist and freelance writer based in upstate New York
For the past 15 years I have had stories published in regional newspapers and national magazines, and have won several awards for my feature writing. I specialize in writing people profiles as well food and travel features. But I also write on the topics of religion and spirituality, arts and entertainment, and health issues.

EXPERIENCE: Freelance Writer - My writing has been published in national magazines and newspapers such as Better Homes & Gardens, Cooking with Paula Dean, Relish, Specialty Food, Figure, The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Montreal Gazette, The Forward, Saratoga Living Magazine, Adirondack Life, AAA's Going Places and The New York Times Syndicate. My essays are broadcast on the NPR affiliate WAMC 90.3 FM in Albany, NY.

award.

An award-winning portrait of a man's 9-year battle with Lou Gehrig's
disease and how he copes with the complete paralysis of his body.
- An
in-depth interview with the writer Dominick Dunne, who revealed
how the pain of his daughter's murder prompted him to become an
activist and crime reporter.
- A
national, first-place award for two spot-news stories done on
local reaction to the events of Sept. 11.
- The
story of a mother's tenacious fight for her son born with Down
Syndrome to be educated and socialized within the context of mainstream
society.
